SELF DIRECTED ART
with AMANDA WEBB & EMILY WRIGHT-MAGOON
AGES 6-18
This is a great hour for all ages (6-18) to find your creative flow! We will provide plenty of diverse art materials, and you can decide how you’d like to create. Each week, we plan to offer a new medium or material along with a range of other regular materials. We will also do our best to provide any materials you request. Some may choose to work solo and others to work on group creations. At the end we might have a completely optional time for you to share your products or process with the group or a peer. We plan to be in a large space where individuals and groups can spread out. If a child/teen needs this to be a rest period, they can also use this period for quiet solo rest time.
Examples of some of the supplies we might have: collage supplies, air-dry clay, pastels, charcoal, markers, paper, craft supplies, paint, fabric, burlap, sticks, plaster, yarn, beads, wood, small hand drills, mod podge, found junk/loose parts, embroidery floss and hoops, low-temp glue guns, etc. Occasional supplies might include: ceramic clay, polymer clay, printmaking supplies, beads/jewelry making, other requested supplies.
Skills required: Willingness to dive into creative pursuits without explicit instruction (some one-on-one instruction can be provided if requested by the student—-the teachers have basic to moderate skills in various mediums)
Homework: none
Lecture time: none
