FRIENDLY FEUD TEEN TRIVIA
with STEFANI WRIGHT
AGES 13+
*kids aged 10-12 can also choose this class (without having to email operations team for permission) if they decide this age range is a better fit for them than the younger trivia
Do you remember the enjoyment of watching people compete on game shows on TV? How cool would it be to be on those kinds of shows because you always feel like you would do better than they would? There will be sound effects, a microphone, a race to get the hint, and as many gameshow aspects as I can add because WHY NOT?!
That’s exactly what I set out to do in my Trivia Class! Come and join me each week for a game of FRIENDLY FEUD with host Professor KnowsMore! (name inspirations from Wreck It Ralph 2 search engine)
Teams will be made up of 3-4 contestants (depending on class size).
Every week there will be a different theme with age appropriate questions. It might take a couple of weeks to get to know the correct level of difficulty as I get to know you all more, but I assure you there will be challenging questions that make this fun for you. This will not be a boring class… that is not my style! Moving on, students are divided into groups (different groups and sizes each week) and given a short amount of time to discuss amongst themselves their best guess. (30 seconds to start out and see how it goes). I will be playing a 'jingle' while teams deliberate so it will be hard for teams to hear each others answers. One of the contestants will be responsible for getting the answer on the whiteboard before time is up.
Team names will be chosen by each team as a whole, I have found that the kids always come up with fun creative stuff, so they will get to choose this year. Teams are awarded points per correct answer to experience competition in a safe setting. There will be one team that will be victorious each week.

There will be a way for them to receive a hint. I will shout
Previous Trivia weeks have included - Space and Earth, Food, Harry Potter, the Human Body, Colors, and more! Future topics and theme suggestions are always welcome. I am aiming to create the questions before the semester begins, but I will be emailing my class to allow them to suggest topics so we can have a whole lot of topics chosen by the kids! ALSO IF THE LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY WILL NEED TO BE CHANGED, THAT WILL BE AN EASY FIX.
I’ll be giving each student the theme for next weeks class a week ahead of time, so you’ll have a chance to familiarize yourselves ahead of time. Any kind of research is great. Practice your research skills and dive as deep as you want into the chosen topic! You may read something of value that your teammate did not… so take the opportunity to research topics you may not typically do in your own homeschool or on your own!
